bluray broblem?!?

hello!

ive ordered phr 803T diode and flexidrive V5
assembly went well, extracted diode and quikly soldered it into flexidrive and soldered flexidrive to + and - terminals of my hosts pcb and when i tested it it didnt work :(

batterys produce 3.6 volts (tested with DMM)
no harm caused to diode
used 250C mode in my soldering station
diode was not heated longer that 1.5 sec

so WTH is wrong with this thing???

How about more detail...

Are you sure you got correct pinout?
PHR diodes are different from red, the 'not used' one on red is NEGATIVE on bluray.

Are you sure you set the current right?
You should first use dummy load, and set proper current for your diode. Mayb it is set to very low value.

Anyway, giving us more info might help a lot

i soldered positive to "reds" positive and negative to "reds" not used pin as i looked from bluray diode digram

DrLava presetted the current to 90 mA
 
Hmm. Bad solder joint?
I dunno what to tell you.

Show us more pictures on solder job on the diode and driver... maybe the driver is defective?
Or diode.

Could be anything...
 
Next time press the diode into the module before soldering the pins, it acts like a heatsink small, yet does the job. This is just a suggestion. Good luck

Also did you short out the caps?

my solder joints are quite good i think and yeas if i remember rigth i shorted out the caps
and i push diode to module before i soldered those wires
 
In your secound picture i cant really see it very well but it look like your flex is not bridge from 108-412mA ...... but it could just be a bad angle in pic

Since it is pre-set at 90mA it wouldn't be jumped to that range ;)

Just looking at these pictures I cannot see any problems. Get some good macro shots of the solder job on the pins and of the other side of the driver as well. MAYBE we can see a problem.

If not, we can take you back through it, a step at a time, testing as we go, to find the problem.

Also, looking at what solder joints I can see, I would NOT call your solder joints "quite good" as you do

I did not take a closer look at the pix because after 10 minutes of waiting I found that only first 1 cm of pixels loaded...
Amazing, I download stuff like, 100 KBps on this Wifi, but I cannot load a picture one day :p

Anyway, Dave thanks for clearing stuff up!

OP, you heard the man, macro pictures! If you do not have the neccessary camera optics, you a magnifier. Works pretty well!

i will try to get macro shots but my digi camera cant do the job so i wait till my brother comes home for weekend (dont know if he comes this weekend)

and how fragile is flexidrive? cuz first time i putted heatshrink tubing on top of an drive
and it got little hot (just little)
 
Do not run that driver without a load. The instructions clearly state that. If the driver is indeed failed write Dr. lave a PM... he has a return policy. I just don't want to speak on his behalf without his permission about it.

Try this. Connect the positive part of your battery to the positive in of the driver. Connect the negative part of your battery to the aixiz module. Tell us what happens.

No. He has reported hooking it up correctly. The red's "not used" pin is the negative pin on the violet diode. The red diode is hooked up positive to the same pin as the violet, but the negative on the red is the case pin.

Also connecting the negative to the aiXiz will only work IF he has soldered the negative pin to the case pin. We do not know if he did that or not, yet.
