Do you mean there are 3 seperate diodes in these....

1 per wavelength?

I don't want to assume anything.

Simply put, there are 3 different Diode CHIPS.

Ok...so you mean one diode element, with 3 seperate chips on it??

So how many leads come off the back of the diode??

Re: Blu-Ray diode w/o deck $40 shipped differnt th

Hey guys,

Another different source I contacted during my little research has replied. Here are the prices. From china i think. but they list the items price in yen so it might be a japanese supplier!!

PS3 KES-400A Original Lens

How much is shipping cost to USA?
use UPS or DHL ship
How much will it cost to make a bank transfer?
bank or western union $1000 about cost to make a bank transfer $20
Are there any other methods of payment?
sorry, we 0nly accept bank or western union
What is the price if many units are being purchased?
1-2pcs $40
10pcs-30pcs $33
50pcs more $26

I am trying to knock down the price so it will be less than the psxboy since I don't see requests >50 requests yet.
but $26 seems like a good price to aim for.
Let's see what Daedal can do!

Daedal if you want I can pass you this guy's contact too.
pm me.

Daedal...based on the other threads for the same item..are you needing a firm commit for a buy??

Have we gotten to that point where we know the final cost to our doors???

just let me know!

Re: Blu-Ray diode w/o deck $40 shipped differnt th

I am definitely in for 2 in a group buy.
Nothing raises spirits like going blu!

Re: Blu-Ray diode w/o deck $40 shipped differnt th

I know selling 50 of these at a decent price will not be a problem. Heck, 100 would sell fairly quickly. I would get a quote for 50, and a quote for 100, and take it from there. No one has to commit to buy on this deal....we need quotes. This is a feeler to see how many would be interested. When it goes to GB mode, this is when we commit to buy and pay.

Re: Blu-Ray diode w/o deck $40 shipped differnt th

xarylx, you are really good at getting real nice prices. :) Seems like you really want some of these ;) I enjoy your resourcefulness. If it actually boils down to wiring the funds and going in on a nice big buy as such, I'm all in for that. I'll PM you now in regards to that.

Although, he never told you the shipping cost. Also, there is a $40 T/T fee from the banks here aside from their $20 bank fees. Such was the case for the 200mW red diodes I ordered.

I'll get it all squared off as I never heard back from that other place. Perhaps it's better to get these from china than from someone who gets them from china ;) As is the case with everything else these days ;D

Re: Blu-Ray diode w/o deck $40 shipped differnt th

Depending on the price I'm interested in as many as 3 (heck get it low enough and I'll get 5)

Re: Blu-Ray diode w/o deck $40 shipped differnt th

Actually I stumbled across lesliewright's site on the blu-ray laser mod and decided to see if I could get a kes module and found those two sites. Then I checked here and there was that other thread. I didn't even realize that Daedal had already finished his own blu-ray laser and was even starting on a guide.

Can't wait for the release of your blu-ray guide. And these cheap units will definitely help people in making their own bluray lasers. Although from what I've read they are like many times more ESD sensitive!!

After seeing all the efforts put into GBs I thought I might chip in abit with some simple googling and emails. Besides once you have lasers of red and green, you start to want blue and violet ones too!

I hope they also have some sort of guarantee for defective units but I guess we can't expect too much. So now the first site is good for purchases in the 5+ range since they didn't respond.

As for the second source, perhaps you might want to keep it quiet first so they don't see this thread and raise their prices like for senkat's gb diodes. Maybe I should be less open about their quotes here. That said their price for 50+ units looks good whereas for less than that I'd say to just go for psxboy and get them shipped to yourself.

Looks like there is a sudden surge in interest.

Leslie Wright was the man that built my blue-ray laser ;)
