Best Way to Cut Copper Rod Stock?

Ahah! Figured it out. My blade is just bent...! Must have caught on something and twisted the blade slightly. I bent it back as far as I could, will try some more later. And yeah - was really easy to open. I didn't notice those latches.

Yeah. May need to get a new saw blade though if I can't bend it back into working order... but actually, my new hacksaw that I got was particularly effective at cutting some copper rod stock. Now I just need something so I can cut off small bits of the ends of the rod stock... not a grinder, because that takes far too long. but something that I can use to make precision cuts after my initial rough cut.

Yea you realy can't use copper on a grinder it will plug up the pores in the grinding wheel and then it stops cutting and in worst case it can even cause the wheel to disscinergrate and when it's spinning at 1800 rpm that can be very bad.
Now a sander is another story a belt or disc sander will work just fine and even a dremel with one of them little sanding drums works fine.

never grind Aluminum or copper on a grinding wheel it can be dangerious :tsk:

Oh. Good to know... I have been *only* using my grinding wheel or aluminum and copper... whoops!

Well, I guess I just need to find one of the numerous sanders that I have and see if it works.
