Best Flashlight for under $70?

Uggh. Now I've got another item in the equation. Lab Laser (or new build) vs HeNe vs Flashlight. :p I'll wait to see how much money I get after my birthday, then I'll decide.

Get lasers for your birthday. You can rationalize the purchase of a useful implement such as a flashlight any ol' time.
 
hey, if you live in a well lit area, you need more lumens to compete with the lumens that are already present ;-)
 
Hey all...I didn't see any recommendations for seriously bright flashlights with great throw. I need to beam a jag-off in the face from about 100 yards. He likes to harass me when my daughter and I are star pointing with our handhelds. He likes to pop me in the face with his 5mw 650 pointer and weak home-despot flashlight. He already knows who's king in Laser Land, now it's time to show him sheer LUMEN FORCE to the face when he's being a douche bag.
 
Record him shining the laser at you, call the cops, have him arrested. What he is doing is assault. The fact that he's done it while you have daughter present is really screwed up.

On the flashlights front. What's your budget? $70? The Crelant 7G5CS would work. Especially with the aspheric head.

If you can go up in budget, the Fenix TK75 would light him up completely.

After that there is the Fenix RC40 - although not a price worthy upgrade from the TK75.

In a whole other category, you can switch to and HID.
 
I took care of the laser issue. But, the douche nozzle keeps at it w/ the flashlight. We'll see how my SAiK and Kryton builds sell. Then maybe I'll drop some real dough one a flashlight.
 
Chase him? Do you know who he is or where he lives?

On another note, I've ordered a Convoy M1 flashlight :D
 
Here's the thing. He's a door guy at a club down the road from my high-rise parking garage. I'm not about to chase a bouncer. I'd rather blind him from him from the safety of my gated garage.
 
TK75, or HID. At under 200 meters, you will light him up like a deer in headlights.

Just about any XPG2 or XML thrower will reach out to 100 yards, but there is a difference in lighting something up, and putting a true spotlight on it :eg:

The Convoy M1 is a good practical choice. It should reach out to 200 meters. Though bear in mind, for a flashlight to be considered as reaching a certain distance - the throw distance - it only has to put the equivalent of bright moonlight, .25 lux on target. Which I take to mean, whatever manufacturer says (reliable manufacturer) divide by 2-3.

Perhaps that is his way of asking for a lesson in lasers? He sees some folks off in the distance playing with lasers in the sky in an urban environment, not knowing that they're actually trying to star point at the few planets still visible.

Just go over and talk to dude. I don't think he's gonna risk jail time because someone came over and asked him why he keeps shining lasers at them.

If you are worried that something will happen, have someone come along with you, armed with camera. Often, just the knowledge that someone is watching is enough to get someone to think about their situation for an extra second or two before acting.
