Hey. I recommend you tu use the FlexDrive v5 from Dr.Lava, it costs 26$. It has a max range of 1.5A and it´s a quite efficient driver, almost every one uses the v5. At 1.5A, you should get 1700mW.
Keep in mind that at those currents ( above 1W ) any driver will produce alot of heat and it´s a good idea to heatsink it, using a piece of metal and some thermal glue.
You can always use two v5 joint toguether if you dont mind spend the extra money, that way the range is almost unlimited for this diodes. Just set both drivers at 850mA and it will give 1.8A ( 2000mW ).The drivers + and - outputs are joint toguether as well as the + and - inputs. This set up is more driver friendly reducing the heat.

Up to 4 Amps??

Maybe soon we'll have a diode that can take that much, but the current 445 diodes cannot take much more than about 1.9 Amps, which is pushing them hard...

But since you mentioned it, I do have a kit using the FlexModP3 driver, that will do 4 Amps. (future proof)

Todeschini (aka Ciphoenix) is the owner of awesome lasers.
If you click on the above link "true dat" you can read some peoples experience
with his laser shop.
If you're too lazy to read, just know this:
He is a shoddy tinkerer and doesn't take the necessary care when harvesting the diodes.
He also makes false claims in his sales and his awesome lasers website is full of fail.
If that isn't reason enough for you:
He is a disturbed individual who believes in the church of scientology and he is also
a convicted child molester.:barf:

Do you want to give money to this man?
I didn't think so either.;)

Those are good reasons...

Marking these diodes 2000mW is bad enough .. only some can reach these heights.
