May I be lame enough to choose the wrong (e.g. should I have posted it in the Market Feedback or whatever) topic...

I see BDR-203 sled at the site mentioned (*****************)... but if I click the info link
http://www.*****************.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=66
I get the photo of *a* sled (which is, by sight, indeterministic to me), and a BDR-S03 graph?!

(link is laser surplus parts)

What is this supposed to mean? Caveat Emptor??

Advice, please..

Just in case it is not clear -- The sled/diode is NOT an 8X diode. It is at best a 2X-4X diode. The owner in aware of that, but continues to use deceptive info in the hopes of getting his money back at the customer's expense

Peace,
dave

yes thanks. it is indeed clear :)
did my nuff reading initially.
it is somewhat understood also why the folk called Tyler is banned.
haven't taken the time to "research" jake21, still...
:D
anyway I think have somewhat realistic picture now.
still, is there a trustable seller carrying bdr-203 sled (since most charge for "extraction" as well) with profit margin <100%?
or is this the wrong board to ask such a question? :)

You cannot buy an 8X "sled." You (or someone else) has to buy a burner and harvest it.

Peace,
dave

now this does make sense.
edit: this is meant to dave...

edit ii: merged

then a noobs best bet is a 6x diode from o-like, the stated 300mW taken with a bit of salt incase one means long runs instead of burning candles of popping balloons at their favorite dance club, I guess..

Don't worry about the mW output yet. Focus on the mA current input. Limit the GGW 6X to >200mA. Limit the SF-AW-210 6X to >175mA. You will NOT be getting 300mW from them.

Better not be Popping any balloons in a club that I'm at...
You may find/hear other things Popping...
Keep your Laser at home... it's not a toy to be used in a public arena..

lol:)
I will actually use the laser in the club where I will be..
that is, where I will just organise parties at that given time..
and whilst it can pop balloons.. that defo means that both galvos are stuck or no driving input happens :D

anyway, from what I remember of my experience of building stage light fx with luxeon k2s, I wont need 300+mWs of 405nm in order to be in par with the red light, to which the eye is the "least sensitive"...

any ideas for a source of a decent 6xx nm red diode?
I am surely a bargain hunter... with the probably rare downside of not killing stuff due to lack of awareness or incompetence.

Are You sure Dave, that he is doing it on purpose, and its not a type-o?
After all, He has posted graphs by Dr Lava that shows exactly what you should expect. ( he put a lot of money in that )
Do you have any proof to back your clams of deception?
Or are you jumping to conclusions again? like with pulsing the diodes, you said that it would cut the power in half
when in fact I am getting 330mW out of a 6X without a lens.
isn't that what you were getting with a CW driver and lens?
At least that is what your graph showed. also in the next two months I will be posting all my data here and at LEF showing PHRs running for days at a time at a min 175 mW to 220 mW.
And the wheels on the bus go around and around. so please sit in your set while the bus is moving or you will get a green slip and your Mommy will need to sigh it.
I though you and Steve were friends?
