Hey everyone, new member here. Brilliant forum. Thanks to everyone for all I've learned already just from browsing and searching the forum.

Just starting to tinker with some simple projector ideas and wanted to ask your advice on a cheap bare-bones setup. For now I just need a plug-and-play balanced light source around the 5mw power range or so. The smaller the better. This is basically what I'm looking for:

- 3 small diode RGB lasers/pointers (with some basic focus optics would be great)
- source for decent dichros? Don't mind spending a bit on these as I'll use them for everything in the future.
- source for micro-mirrors (1-3mm)?

I'm not very versed in the freq-to-power relationship for a somewhat uniform RBG mix, so I was looking for suggestions on that as well.

Thanks in advance if anyone is able to help. Cheers.

Go to aixiz website. They have red green blue package complete with modules and power supplies for all three. Will get you started in a hurry.

Thanks, guys. Much appreciated. The aixiz kit with the 2 dichros is perfect for my needs.

Anyone know of suppliers for those very small mirrors? There seems to be a gap between the 10-30mm and the super tiny MEMs mirrors. What about that millimeter mid range there? :)

A sticker mirror would do, if you guys know of any. Would be a lot easier to cut than actual glass. Thanks again.

You can get smallish mirrors from some diode sleds, not sure of the exact measurements, but they may work for you :)
If you ask around someone may send you a few for free, the tiny sled optics are of little use to most people.

Dtr has an optics package I heard was full of goodies at some very nice price. Not sure if it has you exact needs, but might be worth checking out. Look at dtr laser shop and go to optics and dichros.

I believe I have your dichros and mirrors if your still interested see here> http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-dichros-63728.html#post911483 and here> http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-front-surface-mirrors-63731.html#post911511 I have even smaller FS mirrors for the same price if you need them.

Let me know...

Thanks, guys. The DTR optics kits are sweet. May have to get one of those too. :D

Re. the mirrors, found some on ebay but still bigger than I wanted. I may have to massacre a perfectly good mini disco ball. LOL

cantthinkofone - that freaking cat is awesome. Pew pew pew!

Thanks! Made it myself in gimp photo editing. Would talk more about it but last time we discussed my avatar I got neg reped...

Anyway good luck with your build and if you need any electrical help or anything for that matter feel free to shoot me a pm :)

Awesome. Will do, thanks a million.

If you can cut them in half without breaking them, I'll take 'em. ;)

If you can get me 1mm or 2mm mirrors, I'll take a bag of 'em.

You can chop the dichros fairly easily :)
Not sure about the mirrors though.

Better not risk it. I may need an extra set at some point anyway, so I'll circle back with you if you still have them by then.

@Cantthinkofone - Finally, someone else on GIMP!!
