Ballin led tutu plan needs some help

I could be alright with anything up to 24 awg. That's still pretty slim. I just don't even know that 30 ft would be enough.

The first step: to me, would then be to determine a rough estimate of how much you need and buy about 1/10th of that amount extra just in case (better safe then sorry).

Best way to do this is determine how you plan on wiring it...knowing 2 wires around your waist would be + - respectively, then the rest of the wires would be from battery pack to waist wires, and then from waist wires to led/led to led/led to resistor/resistor to waist wire. Determine a rough amount and check into how many "30 ft." you would need, or if you don't want to use those wires, do some more research.

Ok, I got started on it some Monday.
If 4 regular AA's won't power 4 leds then will the lithium batteries actually work?

We have talked about how el wire doesn't come in uv.
Also I have already bought the leds and the resistors.

How did you actually wire it? How many leds in series and what resistor?
Maybe the resistor is too big of a value and doesn't let enough current flow...

Are they connected in the right sense ?

If yes, then they have a VF a bit higher than "normal" leds, and in this case you need to adjust the leds number in the strings, or to use Li-Ion cells ..... can you try if with 3 leds they work ? (same resistor)

Dim, but lit ? ..... then those leds have a higher FV than normal leds ..... maybe 2.5V or more each (very high, but possible) ..... this means that you can use 4x1.5V in serie only with 2 leds strings, or 4x3.6V Li-Ion cells with 4 led strings, if you want some decent light intensity ..... or 8xLi-Ion cells (2 battery holders in serie) with 8 leds strings .....

EDIT: do you have a DMM ? ..... if yes, can you check a thing ? ..... connect 2 leds in serie with 220 ohm resistor, hook them to 4x1.5V battery, and then measure the voltage at the leads of one of the leds .....

I don't have a DMM. I don't even know what that is.

I think I'm going to say fuck it and just get a bunch of CR2032s and rig them individually. I've already wasted so much time and money and I just want it to work. I'm super frustrated.

Aww come on now! You're so close, all you need are four batteries like these:
$5.37 - TrustFire Protected 3.7V 900mAh 14500 Lithium Battery (2-Pack) - Batteries
Same size as your AAs but roughly twice the voltage....
And a charger like this:

Don't you think it will work out much more expensive to keep buying those button cells all the time?
Plus, the dress will be much less heavy and cumbersome without all those batteries spread throughout it.
Much better would be the 4x battery pack in your purse or on your belt, no?
