Ok I used to work as a security guard and needed a flashlight with a lot of throw and was as bright as the presence of GOD! Since then I've been on a constant search for the brightest and best throwing LED on the market. I've got good news and bad news for ya.
Your spotlight is hella bright. Bad news. You will not come anywhere close to matching it's brightness in a LED flashlight without going multiple emitters (NOT THE P7 OR MC-E) You CAN find something as bright in a HID flashlight but those are extremely expensive.
Good news. there is a NEW LED on the market that just blows away the competition in lumens/watts. It's the Cree XPG. The thing is smaller than any other high intensity led out on the market today with the exception of the Luxeon Rebel (we all know how crappy those are) I took a chance and purchased one light from DX and was VERY impressed with the throw on this light. at 92 lumens per watt and capable of 493 lumens you'll be very impressed.

Now a LED is not the only thing that is going to be important. You also need a good shaped reflector that is going to give you a SPOT and not a flood. With LED's this is EXTREMELY hard to do. However the smaller package of the XPG makes it easier to make into a spotlight. I took a chance on a funky looking flashlight recently from DX.

I also got this as well
DealExtreme: $32.70 MTE SF-22 SSC P7-D-SXO 5-Mode Memory 900-Lumen LED Flashlight (1*18650)
here is a comparison shot of the high on both lights.
Now given what I've said above, I'll let you guess which is the XPG. (I'll tell at the end)
The P7 is an incredibly bright light but has horrible throw. I'd say it's about half as bright as a 1 million candlepower spotlight.
Anywho before I turn this into a huge lets spill all ken's knowledge on led's in one posting, I'll say I was BLOWN away by the amount of light coming from this teenie little led.
I do not recommend buying from DX anymore as they have gotten incredibly slow in shipping. It took me 3 months to get the last 4 orders I've placed with them whereas Kaidomain usually has teh same things and they ship 10x faster. Sadly this light isn't available at Kaidomain yet. still, the light is well worth the wait.
The one on the right is the XPG the one on the left is the p7
