Well not to say I agree with what you said, but I did find the bell end comment rather funny. I just hope the non-brits get that one...Sorry Isaac ;)

I looked it up lol. I feel like I could use this in real life as no one anywhere near me would know what I was calling them haha.

thanks Guys,
@Grainde thanks for the input (no pun intended) i wish i could have had your advice over Chucks from Aixiz when i blew my first blue hand held up,

sorry for the bell end comment Issac but you were kind of baiting me with your comment,

I'm sure you're all nice people and i'd like to think i'm a nice person too,
& thanks Ped just for being here,

thanks too Jander i'm getting itchy for this 3w 808 diode and driver to arrive,i know i may not be the sharpest tool in the toolbox when it comes to technical stuff but i do have a very healthy respect for static beams,iv'e experimented a few times now with ir lasers and always keep the beam well away from my eyes,my prescription sunglasses do have some form of filtration on them and they are always in the shed when they're not being worn,

i'll try to keep my mouth shut in future and keep to how things were before i joined, which is to use the pages of this site for reference.it's probably for the best if i don't post anymore threads, just this one has been enough already.

thank you all for your input/view points
peace out
Stu :)

You don't have to keep your mouth shut...we wouldn't have much of a forum if we all did that :) .

Just recognize the idiots , rise above them and carry on.

They get bored after a while.

You may be used to maybe a more peaceful way of life, being from the West Country :D

I was going to ask if you knew about techjunkie. You should probably be glad he isn't around right now. I didn't mind having him around. Ask bloompyle about him.

TJ is the reason why I say recent joiners get off easy. Personally, I never minded him, but we never clashed either.

One thing new people need to realize is that lasers is a dangerous hobby. In some ways far more dangerous than many other hobbies, even ones which seem overtly dangerous. Not only is bodily harm a danger but risk of litigation and criminal charges is real. This IS the internet, and no one really knows who is behind the forum avatar/name, we can't open our selves up to unrestricted flow of potentially dangerous information and we cannot allow the spread of misinformation. Doing so would endanger us all and the hobby we love.

Most of us would like to be warm, welcoming, and freely discuss any topic we wish with anyone, regardless of their history on the forum or background / safety record, but it just doesn't work that way.
