Are there 1 Watt 532 lasers?

I have a strong desire for a 1 watt 532 laser, but I cant seem to find any of the reputable vendors selling any over 500 mW. Anyone know of a good seller that has 1 Watt 532's?

Thanks!

(I have no idea where this desire came from. I just really want an obscenely bright laser ;) )

They do exist, but I'd expect around $700 for one. Even WL sells a 1W 532nm laser :p but so does LaserGlow and Jayrob I believe has built one sometime ago. Check the B/S/T and search functions

If it doesn't have to be 532nm, get a 1W 520nm diode from DTR. Possibly the easiest to obtain insanely bright green.

Ouch. I forgot how expensive high powered greens were XD.

Might have to hold off on one for a little while :p. Maybe settle for a nice 300 mW.

Wish the 520 nm diodes came in more power levels. It seems to go 50 mW, 120-150 mW, then jump all the way to 1 Watt.

The conversion to 532nm is perhaps 30% efficient, meaning you need something over 3W of 808nm to end up with 1W of 532nm. That's what makes them uncommon and expensive.

I have attached a power graph from my 800mW JetLasers PLE-Pro 532nm. It spends a lot of time in the 900mW range, and occasionally peaks at 1W. So a JetLasers 800mW 532nm may get you pretty close to what you want.

But the price is really close to a 1W 520nm diode and host. That may be a better way to go if you don't specifically want 532nm.

One last point... Despite a substantial price difference, there isn't a huge visible difference between 700mW and 1000mW of 532nm.

Blarg,

JetLasers also has a "800mW" 532nm PL-E PRO which would probably hit 1W since most of their lasers are over-spec and some members have managed to squeeze 1W of 532nm goodness out of them :D

My 700mW 532nm from laserBtB will hit 1W on a fresh charge.

Just a heads up for future reference, I don't buy from LaserBTB after the miserable experience I had with them, and the fact that it cost me 200$.
