Anyone know an easy way to drill through washers?

Re: Anyone know an easy way to drill through washe

I tried drilling a washer to enlarge the hole for an aixiz module, the only washer i found either had a hole too big, or too small. When i try drilling it, it would get caught on my drillbit and start turning aswell. Even with it in the vice. So i given up.
I also tried the dremel tool, but it either didnt do much, or took ages just to make it slightly larger.

There is another option which involves no machinary, a taper hand reamer....similar to
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CONICAL-3-DEG...hash=item370051280718&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177
(this one is a machine reamer but the hand ones come up once in a while)
As it is tapered you need to wind it in from both sides then clean up the hole with a round file to get good contact with the module....

if possible, you could use copper instead of steelwashers.
softer, quite easy to drill.
better heat-transfer.
you can solder your module in for excellent heattransfer, at least i do so with my brass aixiz modules.

get a sheet of copper somewhere, and you'll have an easier life later on! :-)
