I wouldn't say "no good," but it's certainly surpassed by a 640 system.



635nm systems used diodes last time I checked.

The 500mw 635nm laser arrive!!

First of all.

The Bad: As expected the divergence is bad! The first 4 meters is fine but the the laser spreads out horribly!

The Good: It's awesome to have a high power visible laser other than green. The beam is very visible without smoke. Shining the laser into the sky produces a similar visible beam to that of a 100mw greenie.

Is it worth $670? Hell yes. High power 635nm red!
Should I have bought 100mw blue for the same price? Maybe. I don't have blue. Then again I didnt have bright red either.....The red is very dramatic with smoke. Makes a nice change to green.

BTW, because of the larger beam diameter it doesnt burn. You can't even hardly feel it on your skin.
