hi i have a rkcstr driver and parts to make 2 drivers, i ordered 2 aixiz modules from over seas and i canot get another one for a wile. has anyone ever made their own using idk pen case machined metal and a collimating lense?
cheers

It could be done easily, (except for the lens) but for <$5, why go to all that trouble? The lens itself would probably cost that much.

yeah i know it wouldnt be from aixiz but i dont know what else to call it :) i have a few lenses hanging around anyway.
cheers

You of course need a lathe and some tooling to do this work. It can easily be done, but why duplicate the aixiz housing? Machine a laser head that has threads for a lens nut (you can make the lens nut, too) and a pocket to press the diode into. Then, machine a battery compartment to fit and you have an entire custom host. The lenses you have hanging around, are they from other lasers? To be useful as a collimating lens, it will need to be of very short focal length.

yes i have lens from other lasers hsnging around
cheers. it is hard for me to get aixiz modules because it takes to long to get to me an they are rather expensive :(

If you let us know where you live we may be able to suggest a supplier?
