The moving wrapper trick can be demonstrated with a plastic grocery bag. It does the same thing.
It's because it melts.
It's not because of gravity, though. It's just because the crinkled wrapper un-crinkled when it melted in that spot.

Edit: And any color laser powerful enough to melt the bag/wrapper will do it.
