AMC 7135 driver QUESTION!!

I added an AMC 1735 chip to the board shown below, but the current stayed the same at a max of 1050 mA? I tried this twice, removing the first chip Id added and replacing it with a second one I had. It sill made no difference ie 4 chips and max 1050 mA not the expected 1400 mA...??

So either I killed the chips putting them on or something else is going on. Any ideas?

Did you bypass the Atmel chip ? Maybe the chip is programmed for 1050mA max.

i had this happen to me bro, make sure the -out pad is connected to the -out of the amc chip next to it.

In case you didn't already address it, sometimes you can overlook the supply ability...

What are you using for batteries?

Because if only alkaline cells or something, then that would be the culprit...

I think it is. I tested all three pins on every chip ie pin 1 was connected to all other pin 1's, pin2 to all others etc...Or did you mean something else? :undecided:

Yup exactly 1045 mA. Its never been over 1050mA...

its not limiting it then, you sure all your chips are connected properly? do you have a photo of YOUR driver?

Yeah I tested all the contact pins as mentioned. Ill take a photo but bear in mind it doesnt look nice any more! I attached a new chip and it looked great...then I thought the chip was buggered as the current was stuck at 1050 mA. So I decided to remove that chip, which didnt want to come off...a pair of pliers later and much swearing I got it off and attached my last new chip. As it had lots of residual solder I couldnt get it on nicely! Anyway none of the pins are shorted and all are connected in the circuit as they should be. Im just mentioning this as people are liable to say the messy soldering is the cause.... Will update with a photo in a mo. :beer:
