I thought they pump ethylene as a plant hormone into room to ripen the fruit?

Funny? How so/in what way funny? How are you meaning that seeing places of interest and eating will be funny there?

NRGLite---If you are only in Beijing there are enough things to see and do to keep you busy for years---so while in Beijiong see the following world class historical highlights as a beginning:
1. I would suggest as already mentioned 1st chioce go spend as much time as possbile inside the Forbidden City/ "Gugong" is awesome and amazing that any place like it could ever exist especially as large as/on the scale of, the Forbidden City---is a relic from more seriously Chinese times. Is best seen and understood if you hire a guide who is a University trained specialist in Gugong that can explain everything to you. One thing you can easily take note of is the number of animals on the corners of the roof a building is a significant thing--10 animals is highest level/status means that building is only for the Emperor and his family --off limits to everyone else, 9 animals is next level in status of the building or people who are running, work, or live in it, 8 animals is next lower level and so on down to the lowest 1 animal of no animakz---get someone to explain to you in details what the levels meant and how the place functioned in the real world---is pretty interesting.
2. Go see the Temple of Heaven---it is here the Emperor would go make sacrifices and pray to Heaven.
3. Go see the Lama Temple --the most famos Buddhist temple outside of Tibet
4. Go to and see Bei Hai Park--lots to see there --the famous 9 Dragon screen and a lot of other interesting things
5.Go to the Hou Hai area--home to the nobles and wealthy merchants ---a rare and untouched quarter of Beijing show old China
6.Summer Palace - seasonal imperial retreat away from the close quarters of the Forbidden City and favorite home of fiercesome Empress Cixi
7. Great Wall of China - go to Badaling which is a 1 hour drive to get to ---see and walk the Great Wall

Those should keep you busy for a while. lol

Ha ha haaa classic!!! Actually less than a year ago all the packets of frozen berries from a certain brand, got recalled because it was found to have some type of hepatitis from being washed in so called treated human poo poo. (From China) Everyone that ate the items had to go and get tested !! No shit true story. .. The canned chicken is whole minus the feet and head obviously. I'll take a photo next time I'm there and I'll post it here ha ha haaa. That shits crazy, I also heard sandwiches are next to hit the shelves..

I suspect some won't want to even think about this, but chicken feet are eaten in China and many Asian countries and a few other countries where they eat lots of chicken, if you don't believe it then Google it: https://www.google.com/#q=chicken+feet they are sold in Asian markets but I have even seen them sold at Walmart sometimes, and they weren't canned they were fresh. Of course Walmart chops up and prepares plenty of chickens so it makes sense they would package and sell the feet too.

I am surprised you don't have sandwiches on the shelves there, here there are stores everywhere with prepackaged sandwiches. I know in some Asian countries they don't eat sandwiches and don't even eat bread.

It seems overpriced, but then it would be nice to have one around since canned foods last quite a long time. Here in the U.S. Chicken is one of the more popular foods so it's not too expensive.
