Almost made a really expensive really stupid mistake

So I received my first Laser today. 8 days after I ordered it (credit to Sanwu as this wasn't express but regular shipping) and I went to put my battery in and didn't remove a plastic/rubber cover on one of the ends. I instantly realized what id done and that my battery was now stuck in my 120$ laser. Was minutes away from making a shame post asking for any advice on getting it out when some very slow and gentle pulling on the exposed tab with pliers managed to save me. Will never make that mistake again.

So you nearly got your battery stuck in your laser but didn't? For future reference, you might try a Neodymium magnet on the end of a pen/pencil to remove stuck batteries.

If anyone else has trouble with this, batteries are usually very attracted to a magnet. A well-secured chunk of neodymium-on-a-rope could get SOME movement on it.

That's the laser hobby, when something goes wrong, you deal with it, and figure out a way around it. :gj:

If it was easily removed by gently pulling on the
battery tab with pliers... I'm sure it would have
easily come out using centrifugal force..
