I was just searching through Alibaba for some laser pointers. And I came across this:

I know it still is a cheap chinese laser pointer, and it is quite expensive, but you can use it in many different ways. Star cap for nice patterns, red laser, green laser, yellow laser, focussing mode for lighting matches and stuff.

And it doesn't have a normal button, it has a touch button.

It seems like a very interesting and rather unusual laser pointer to me.

The shipping costs to the USA are much more inexpensive than Alibaba.com.

Great find, Angel. I'm surprised something like this is comin out of Alibaba. Sort of considering, $60 for a 100mW dual beam laser with all those functions is pretty good. Even if it is likely to crap out in a couple months...

Exactly, but for the 100mw version, the shipping costs are pretty high, depending on where you live, the price for the shipping can be even higher than the price of the laser itself.

wow, really cool find! maybe to avoid shipping costs someone could do a group funded test, then if it works well a group buy. i'd be in for a 100$, 100mW yellow laser as long as it works.
 
Yeah darn, shaping is nearly the price as the product for me... :/

Probs to compensate for the surprisingly good price of the laser by itself. Oh, the things I would do if I actually knew how to steal without feeling regret... ;)

I maybe think so, but all things on Alibaba are with high shipping costs, because Alibaba isn't meant for purchasing only one item, it is meant for bulk purchases.
 
I'd love to get my hands on that host. I want to set it at 5mw. Anyone have any idea on how to obtain a host like that empty?
