I use cameras to align high power IR lasers. It works well and I feel much safer. As for visual lasers I use eye protection. I will say I have watched many many light shows on screens with a 1w projector but anything more is so bright it hurts and hence my eyes say not good. Once you get past a point of clarity it starts to light up the room from scatter ruining the contrast ratio so what is the point. I’ve even gone so far as to use a black screen. While dimmer it looks better as the contrast ratio increases which in my opinion is the magic of laser.
you can calculate the mpe and you should. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Look at smoking. Like smoking it’s not just about acute effects. You can and will develop cataracts over time from excessive blue exposure. We get it naturally just from the sun.
cameras work. Be mindful of chronic effects.
