I couldn't agree more with what BB said. And actually, I would like to see the DIY driver thread stickied.
No one seems to build/use LM317 or variant drivers anymore. I remember back when RHD was all about those and those were all the rage, everyone was making their own drivers! Now, people just buy their own $20 driver because they aren't too expensive and they are too lazy to build their own! I feel if people knew how easy it was to build a linear driver, we'd have more people doing it. Hell, that's coming from a guy who sells drivers here, so you'd think I would be trying to encourage driver sales.
