8x sled/diode?

Someone notified me about 8x diode appeared in laser-xh shop: LG BH08 LS20 Blu-ray diode (from LG BH08LS20)
Is this really 8x diode?!

Although the picture of the sled MAY be from the BH08 (we need pictures of both sides), those are pictures of 6X diodes from a GGW sled

I have seen a lot of them. I have also seen several dozen LG BH08 sleds/diodes.

As I said, there is still a chance that the sled is an 8X (pending better pics), but those are definitely NOT 8X diodes

We should probably get dieslemarine involved here. He may be the only person on the list who has seen the sled of a CH08. I don't think he took any pictures, but he will remember what the heat sink looked like.

I don't remember what it looked like, I've delt with so many sheds.. but what I will do tonight is open my CH08 drive and take some pictures of both sides of the shed and then we'll see if this helps out.

Thanks, Sarge. If you could get a picture that includes the shape of the back of the heat sink as well, that would help.

I'll be documenting everything really well w/ pics and LPM measurements. LarryDFW was saying he might come by to check out the sleds too.

I harvested the ch08 diode today and here are the pictures of the shed/heatsink and diode. Hope this helps you guys out!

Yeah. I wanted to see if the heat sink and cirularizing lens was different in the CH as opposed to the BH. They "look" the same as do the sleds. Two things from this:

First, we cannot tell from just looking at them if it is a CH or a BH sled/diode

Second, the pictures of the diodes on the website are definitely NOT from the BH08 sled.

Back to the drawing board (and blind freakin testing)
