7w MX900 CREE T6 customised

Hi guys:wave:

This Cree flashlight is great for a simple build, but the brown or silver anodised look and the shape of the host just doesn't appeal to me.

Lately I've really enjoyed the simple alloy Polished look and any colour diode will complement this.

Doing this isn't easy and takes time and a lot of sandpaper but with a little patients and precision you can acomplish a custom work of art.

If I had spent even more time on the head it could have looked even better but honestly for a cheap flashlight like this, it's a huge improvement and I can enjoy it much more now.

I was planing on removing the 7w diode to a better home but now it could possible remain in this host.

Looking good BBB. Can't rep yet I think I have 4 or 5 900s and I'm neutral about the looks. Haven't built a 44 yet. I'm more interested in another 07E as I love the 470nm+ color so much more and my first one peaks just over 6W. I see you already have a couple of them. Seriously tempted to buy another diode/driver for it. I have been waiting for a 10W in the 445/50 range. Do you know if anyone has seen a wavelength shift when pushing the 44?

Now thats what I'm talking about !! Nice and clean no lines just sleek looking and shiny .. Great job and the 44 WL looks awesome in it. A little cosmetic adjustment did wonders for this host..

I'm glad you all like it I think it turned out really nice, leaving some minor fins on the head adds a bit of class to the rest of the host I think, polished alloy is very easily scratched though, and glad I used a face mask this time all that fine dust in the air can easily put you in hospital.

Yes, always think of your lungs. I have made far too many mistakes already regarding this.
You will have to polish your laser regularly to keep it looking pristine

I wonder if anyone has bead blasted an MX900? Have anot her 07E I'm going to push arriving today and it's going in a gray D mag with a couple Feilong 32650 with the sprint mod. One issue is I really need a nice focus knob for it as the ones I have don't match well. Will have to use a regular one for now although I might go through my units and swap it with an already used one.
