Awesome red laser. I love the host. It's slightly visible during the day time and quite nice at night. About 3 weeks shipping. 10/10
Nice laser, swan, looks like one of the SS hosts!
It's nice to see a red wavelength for a change! We don't see too many reds anymore; they just don't seem to get any love, with all the newer high power diodes, and the "exotic" wavelengths, the reds have taken a backseat in hobby laser building.
Hey SGD, I'll bet that you'll have have a red to add to your sig pretty soon! :yh:
The lower power singlemode reds are actually some of my favorites for everyday use; you can use them without fear of burning everything in sight, and I personally like a red beam for night use as a star pointer, the red seems to be easier on my eyes than the usual green pointers.
i actually do love my reds alot, althought i had a recent death of my low powered 638nm i still have the stronger tec cooled,im planning to build one pocket sometime.
Shotgundrums how did you fried your blackbuck driver?
I have been thinking about taking my Oclaro700 apart and see if I can crank it up to 1W. I would certainly have use the only G2 lens I have plus a new driver with more current. mine has a long way to go, afterall its only 531mw.I have a 700 mW 638nm laser and a 1+ watt one too. They are both very bright even in a well lit room. If yours is not, I would suspect it is not 700 mW. You can only know for sure if your measure the power with a laser power meter. If you are happy with it, that's really all that matters.

i suggest you to get the mitsubishi ml501p73 instead of the oclaro as it is more robust and has nice lifespan even above 1w.
hey chris
I actually used to have a p73 build but blew it up by accident
I have been thinking of getting another, the problem is that open cans hate me
