6x vs 8x abilites

Hey Jay....
I can't for the life of me find that FrancoRob "Graph" following
your link... Am I missing something...

That's strange... I click the link and it goes right to the post.

It's post #393 on page 16 of Dave's 8X thread...

Laserbee:
Ok that the 6x is a good burner, but not so much :D: the plastic sheet I cutted has the same thickness of a standard paper sheet, 0.1mm thick (90 grams/sqm)....I wrote it in the movie description.
The light alloy plate I put behind the plastic is a 3 mm thick....
P.S.: I just checked the Jay address to my link, it works perfectly for me....

Misterwilling:
If I understood well, you're waiting to install your 8x in a custom host! When this will happen, please inform me, I'll add you in the 8x owners list with the mA and mW you have decided to maintain....
350mA - 440mW give a point falling exactly in the Larry and Mike curves, while it's the first time that I read that someone of you guys has pushed his BDR-203 8x diode to 420mA!!!:can: (but I may be wrong....)

I'd like to share my opinion on the 6x diodes...
I bought 2. One I destroyed because my soldering iron is a piece of crap. My fault.
The other died at 205mA. I got 200mW at 205mA with LarryDFW's hi-power lens.
It was a weak diode. For $70 a piece, the 6x is not worth the price. I would have rather spent that ~$140 on an 8x than 2 ruined 6x diodes. I know some of these diodes are capable of MUCH higher power (wannaburn pushed a couple to >300mW) but the gamble aint worth the price. I don't have heaps of cash layin around.
I will replace the 6x with an 8x in a couple months, but after that, I'm done with the tiny 5.6mm diodes.
I like the Class IV range better anyway... there the diodes don't whine and cry when you run a couple amps through them. And no LOC or Blu-ray can burn as well as >2W of 808. >:D

Oh... I forgot to mention that I've got a PHR doing 120mW with plastics and 158mW!!! with Larry's lens. At about half the current the 6X diode died at. The sled only cost me $13.

Hmmm.... that means that many of my links that I have referred to are not necessarily correct.

Because on my computer, it is the same post number, but on page 16.

So I guess it has to do with the screen size/resolution. For how many posts will be per page. Or how many pages per thread...
Jay

Yeah... that is weird... I only have 12 pages total on Daves 8X thread...

I tried the other LPF themes and nothing changed...
I'm using FF and my screen is set to 1024 X 768...

I just tried it with IE and Jay's page #16 link now works but not my #10 link...

On IE there are 19 pages total on Daves 8X thread...
Don't tell me we need to double link for the IE and FF users.... :wtf:

I've got my screen settings at 1280 X 1024 with Windows XP.

My browser is Firefox...
Jay

1280 x 800 in Windows XP, using Firefox. On the Mac side I'm not sure the screen resolution but it is a bit higher than 1280 x 800 and I'm using Safari.

Can't you change the number of posts you see per page in the CP?

Hey Jay...
what versiom of FF are you using...

I'm using FF 3.0.1 on Win2000 Pro...

3.0.11...

The only thing that makes sense is the difference in screen resolution...

Or, maybe it has something to do with the LPF display mode settings?? That would make sense!

I am using 'Dark Shadows V3'.

I'm using the default setting which is 25 posts per page, unless I miscounted. The selections through the CP allow for 10 through 40 posts in 10 post increments.
