Hey everyone!
I'm just wondering, since I haven't found any pictures of it by searching, if someone has a picture (or at least description) of how 635 looks, compared to 650?
Thank you!

These days there are tons of 635nm lasers.
You must be looking in the wrong place.

The color is red. More orange-ish than 650nm but definitely red.

Yeah, I guess I am. I can't find a comparison pic anywhere.
Thank you though!

I'll try to take a pic of the difference tonight. I've been meaning to and haven't got around to doing it.

From left to right I think it is 10mW "650nm," 10mW "635nm," 40mW "635nm," 300mW "655nm."

I put the wavelengths in quotations because diodes can shift wavelength by a few nanometers depending on manufacturing variances, temperature and input current.

I took a few shots tonight and they came out so-so at best. I need to finish cleaning out my work room so I can reshoot them this weekend or next. Going through 15 years worth of crap ahead of a cross country move sucks. It did look pretty cool to have all my reds (633, 635, 650, 660*) on at once. There was a clear difference between them.

*I've read that the LPC-815s were closer to 660 than to 650. I can't verify that without a spectrometer.

The best of the lot.

L to R: <5mw 632.8nm HeNe, 7mw 635nm, 200+ mw 635 nm, 60mw 650nm, 190mw 660nm

The HeNe really got washed out. By itself it is a really nice red-orange color.

Thank you for the pictures, everyone. That really clears things up, as I previously saw no difference.

The only difference is the brightness and the beam shape really. The color between reds vary very slightly. I can barely tell the difference between my 635 and 685 (color-wise) unless I've been looking at both long enough.

There is a difference between the two, though it's not dramatic. No digital camera is going to be capable of discerning and displaying much difference between these two colors. If you were to look at these two colors side-by-side, 650nm is a saturated cherry red while 635nm is a pink color, with more orange.
