Recently I've bought myself some red lasers, since at the time lazerer was getting some great reviews, I bought from them. I ordered my lasers on the 11th and received them on the 28th, 17 days to ship from china isn't bad.

Anyway, on with the pics!

Lasers were surprisingly smaller than my arctic, personally I like them this way though.

left: 638nm right: 650nm
My camera picks out a difference in the wavelengths better than I do, 638nm is more orange than the 650nm, but I still wouldn't call it orange, or even red-orange. It's still red.

Pointed at a door at approx. 41ft away

I now understand why single mode is good. Also, I noticed some spots in the spot that are brighter than others, multiple emission points?

On the 650nm the spot is about 1 inch in diameter 41 feet away when focused to infinity

On the 638nm the spot is about 2 inches long and one half inch wide at 41 feet

Beamshots!

638nm on left, 650nm on right

638nm compared to my 473nm labby

650nm focused in front of laser

This would've been my christmas beamshot submission, arrived a bit late for that though :undecided:

I'll end the pictures with a host size comparison with my argon, 473, 532, 650, 638, my dead arctic, a pen, a few batteries and assorted trash laying around.
Perhaps I should make a picture with all of these running at a time soon.

Due to my weirdness, I opted to have my lasers metered: 650nm had a peak of 216 mW, while my 638 had a peak of 345mW (with 2 16340's which I do not personally have, yet.)
There are two things that I am unhappy with in this purchase: Both lasers physically need to be hit to work properly. Not sure if I should waste the money shipping them back or not, I'll give it a few more days. The 638nm needs to be hit to get a spike in power, hopefully it's just the spring inside being too short, and hopefully 2 16340's will be longer than 1 18650. The 650nm needs to be hit in order to actually start lasing.
Aside from that, the shipping took a while but it's the holiday season, I'm happily surprised it was under 20 days. The lasers feel strong and well built, despite the issues they cause me.
I'll end this review with a link to the pictures I uploaded (41)

Next on my list: 2.2W survivallaser (damn you bank transfers taking forever...)

Also: anyone know any goggles for 445nm-650nm?

I didn't believe people who say Lazerer is getting worse, I used to recommend them to anyone who asked, but after this review and a lot of other threads I just dont know. Hopefully its just because of the holidays. I was planning another purchase from them in the coming week but if their service doesn't go back to what it used to be, I might try O-like.

Thanks for sharing this review. +1

@ ZRaffleticket,

Try using a spanner or similar to slightly tighten the INSIDE of the tailcap clicky.

Regards,

Glenn

@lazeerer I originally got sucked into thinking they were good, but after this it's changed my mind, Pretty much anything not coming from CNI is going to be quantity rather than quality.
@GAtkins Unchanged, they started out pretty tight together. I also changed the caps between the two lasers and they had the same effect which makes me think the driver has some problems or some contacts have problems.

What people dont understand is your still getting the same cheap china laser that you can buy from DX, KD, DD But at a more Expensive price in hopes to get better service or Customer service. Thats all you get.! You dont get a better quality laser. The Quality is the same.

You can pay for a LPM test but that doesn't makes your laser have better quality it just tells you that your laser is up to spec.

I bet you anything if you where to buy the 635nm laser that they sell from another company you will get Exact same power range.

Lazerer.com does not use different parts,Drivers Diode etc then what you would get from buying it at any other site at a cheaper price. They all come from the sme manufacture.

IMHO i dont even think there is better quality control either. There not going to throw away or not use ones that dont come up to spec.! They will find a way to recycle them back in. If you think that they are Buying a "Higher Binned" Quility laser to justify the higher price your Crazy.

Look at this thread from Example. He has to hit both lasers for them to work.:wtf: If there laser where so much better they would not have shipped 2 laser to 1 person that are defected.! I could see if it was 1 and it happens but 2. Come On.errrrr.

On top of that you have to pay for a LPM test. Your laser should already come on spec.! You should not have to pay to find out and make sure it is.

With alot of the Complaints and issues that have been popping up recently i hope you guys will start to see this and wake up.!

There is Nothing else different about this company that makes there products better then the next guy other then you can Buy a LPM test. Period.!

I'm just tired of seeing people get sucked into to this thinking they are getting a better product when there not.

Ya I agree with you, but the only reason I buy from them, is so I get a up to spec laser. Also there customer service is a little better. But the quality seemed like it was perfect or almost perfect in the beginning, but it looks like they are getting too much orders, so they have to rush and the quality isn't the same as when they started.

@ZRaffleticket, OK, worth a try. Mine was a little loose from the factory and would not stay on when the clicky was pressed. Snugged it up and it now works perfectly.

I agree on this. They even forgot to ship me some items and i had to find out myself after three weeks. After one week of mailing i was told it was shipped now but still havent received anything :undecided:

Well I would not say that if it doesn't come from CNI then it wont be good. There is alot of good company's out there.

I just think that alot of it was sugar coated to hide the real fact which is they are the same cheap lasers that you can buy anywhere.

Don't get me wrong though nothing wrong with buying a laser that are cheap."Not that the Riffle is a cheap laser but iam talking in general" Hell i have a crap load of cheap lasers.:) The Riffles are good laser and my post was not meant towards cheap lasers or what not but more towards making people understand that its still the same cheap laser that you can buy anywhere else and that's it. There is no better quality then buying from someone else. However when i buy a cheap laser I Know its a cheap laser but most that buy from Lazerer.com think that its much better quality laser buying it from Lazerer.com rather then another company. That's the problem.

I don't think you understand what my post said.

See that's what iam saying when people don't see it. There is NO better quality. Its the same Exact lasers that you can buy at any other company. You see what i mean now.

Your paying more for better support and that's it. If you want an Up to spec laser you pay for a LPM test from them.

This does not make the laser have better quality and that is what my point is when people think they are getting a better laser.

Its so sugar coated that they don't see it.

Ya I guess, I guess I just though better quality was up to spec, after dealing with all the other drop shippers. :p But ya, it doesn't make sense that you have to pay for the laser to be up to spec (power sheet). Its the same as all the other drop shippers, just a little better service.

Guys guys, settle down. Lazerer does sell relatively good lasers. ALL of my lasers have come on or over spec. The only problems I have had is non protected 18650s not working in them, I always seem to have to use cr2s with 2 spacers. which basically fixes the issues with their lasers and boosts output by 30+ mw. Just in my experience, so try it.

Lazerer.com are NOT better quality company, they are just an HONEST company, coparing to other Chinese companies.

See your another one.LOL An up to spec laser does not make it have better quality.

Its the same cheap lasers that you can buy anywhere else.

Iam done here there is no Point in Explaining it over and over again when you dont see what iam talking about.

I never said that Lazerer.com are bad buys or there bad lasers. Hell I even own a few.! But I know they are the same cheap lasers you can buy anywhere else. But most of you have been Brain washed in thinking they are better Quality. TO make it clear 1 final time, all iam saying is wake up.!!!! They are no better then getting them from another company. They are the same cheap lasers that you can get anywhere. An Up to spec laser does not make it have better quality. Your laser should come up to spec regardless.

Iam just tired of seeing people say they are better quality because they are up to spec. It makes no Sense.

They are NOT better quality coming from Lazerer.com.

Your mind set is if the laser is up to spec then it must be a better quality. Your Nuts if you think that.

Again There is nothing wrong buying from them just know the difference is what I'm saying.
No no thats not exactly what I meant. Your right the quality isn't great, but you get what you pay for, and considering the good service that comes out of it. Its a pretty good place to buy from. Of course yeah say laserglow is going to be exceptionally better, but they're prices are fairly high. Not all of us have that kinda cash to spend. I would definitely but from laserglow though if I had the cash.
Oh and it does make me angry when lazerer advertises their lasers to use 18650s when none of the ones I have bought have worked well with those batteries. but thats the quality, you get used to it.

I know this is a kinda old thread, but you are absolutely right!!!

They are selling the same lasers everybody else does, at higher prices to make them appear better. It called "False Economy"

Also, just because you bought a cert with your laser, doesnt mean that the laser they sent you is the one on the cert.

Go ahead and buy from them however, your getting the same laser regardless, just paying more for it.

On some of there models, you can get 2 for that price, or one and another cheaper model from some of the other sites.

For instance their LZCS 150mw focusable green @$84.99 , is available elsewhere for ~$35. Just using that as an example as I bought one from the cheaper source, and I promise you its the same laser.

@Haloid95 , They arent getting worse, they have always sold the same thing as everyone else . O-like is the same however, its the same stuff too!!
