looks to me like a giant multiline argon laser - they only emit one beam but if split with a prism, the blue and green components of the main beam will become visible

why didn't you take the laser?? if it had worked, you would have had like a 4w cyan laser!!! send it to me then! ;D ;D

Very cool. It does have a green and blue color which are used in lasershows, but its not quite like what you get with DPSS. The main lines in the argon will be 488nm and 514nm versus the 457/473nm and 532nm you get with DPSS. Not to mention needing an expensive PCAOM to modulate the power.

I wonder if you could turn it into a pointer :o with a backpack with 3 phase power and a tank of water, now that would be cool ;D
