5mW green + red + bluray

maybe many, many times asked question.
i have a 5mW new wish green.

if i want to make yellow, i need 20mW red. is that correct?
then if i add a 10mW bluray, do i get "whiteish"?
am i at least near right?  

i like to stay in quite low power range..

and where do i get 20mW red because all i see is selling either 5mW or 100mW and more..?

5 mw green about 15 to 20 mw red and 20 -30 mw violet.get a 16x diode and turn it down

im not sure how well the blu ray will mix to make a white. but you should be able to get close to white.

what are you going to be using to mix them? dichros? if so which ones?

Yes. However, whiteish is probably a loose definition.
as 405 is a whole lot less visible than 473, I´d go with 15-20 mW.. But the best thing you could do ist try. ;)

now i know better.

i would like to use 1/2 mirrors or how is it in right words?
i´m from finland, so i dont know all the english words.

i allready have one LG rewritable dvd 16x diode.
i have decided to order driver from rcstr for that.
what kind of driver do i need to make that about 15-20mW red?
i´m propably sure that he will ask me something that i dont know the answer cause im so beginner.

I think he means a beam splitter mirror.
A beam splitter might give a little mixing but will be very inefficient.
Splitters are used to split or combine a single color.

i was thinking more like a mirrors that from the other side you see your face and the other is a seethrough.
could it work?

or is this when dichros are needed?

It would work, but at less than 50% efficiency. Dichros offer up to 95% efficiency.

here's a pic i did a while back, it was like 5mW of green, 10mW of bluray, and a 100mw red that i turned down for a good color match

yes you would want to use a dichro.

they are made to reflect a certain color(s) and pass through other colors

Hello All,

There are suitable dichro's available in the sleds we get our diodes from. The phr803t sleds have a dichro that will pass green but reflect blu-ray. The DVD burners also have dichro's that may work to mix colors in a scanner...

I'd put the green in straight through, then mix the purple with the phr dichro, then try to add red with a DVD burner dichro. (I'm planning something like this for my 3 axis scanner. So I've put some thought into this exact problem. But I haven't gotten to try it yet. But I'm also using higher power- 40mW green + 100mW violet + 200mW red.)
