561nm?






Yeah looks like it's gonna have a slight hint. I don't know much about this wavelength. But 6000 bucks for 50mw!!?
I'm actually more interested in the beam Divergence. 0.2Mrad!!!! Man if that thing was a watt it would be killer.
 
I think it will be a greenish yellow. To rich for my blood. :D

Regardless of what they say, I believe it is a DPSS laser.

I actually agree. It looks awfully bulky and large for a little diode lol. Definitely solid state.

561nm could also be an OPSL. Same goes for 532nm (though it's pretty uncommon). But in this instance, I think the "Diode/DPSS" label on the controller pretty much confirms that it's DPSS.

561 nm is called yellow by some, but it is lime-green.

See the difference here: Relative Laser Beam Brightness Calculator: (532nm 1mw) vs. (561nm 1mw) - interesting effect, when I look at the 561 nm at different angles on my notebook screen it appears yellow at one angle, lime-green at another. Be careful of that if you are using an Apple computer with an LCD display, the pixel mix behaves differently at angles on my Macbook Air 13.3 inch screen. The 532 nm green does it too, at one angle the colors look identical to one another.

That is an interesting color! That's what I guess I wanted to know, although I have to confess that now, I'm really, really, curious to find out what the hell they use these for, six grand is a bit steep for a laser pointer, you know? Surely, there is something that requires one of these, but what? But admit it, you guys all know you want to be the first kid on the block to build a laser pointer of some kind out of one, don't you? But as an old friend of mine would have said: "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride", and that's how it is.

A thread from a longtime ago. Battery operated 556. It's mentioned in the thread a review of a 561nm handheld laser if you want to search.

The color of the signis a very good representation of the actual color of 561nm light.
This wavelength has application in the bioscience field.

There's already been tons of threads regarding this wavelength.... 561 is DPSS and the process is the 1123nm being doubled.

Yes, a lot of threads, searching on google will bring you right back here. I suppose calling this color green or yellow depends upon which side of the fence you are on, you can look at it as yellow, or look at it as green, since it is in the middle between the two.
