I just ordered one along with their 405nm Nano, the Core at 5mW, the Nano at 75+mW.

Does anyone else have any experience with the wicked lasers Core pointer? It takes 2x AAA batteries, is it possible to use rechargable AAA batteries for it?

AAA Rechargeable batteries are at most charged to 1.4V, Non rechargeables are about 1.5v fresh. I don't think rechargeables will have enough voltage to power the laser. Going off your SIG, WL has made quite alot of money off you :P

OK I just removed every thing I had said here at the request of lunasigma as he PM'd me
asking me to change what I had said about WL, well since I couldn't think of anything
good to say I decided just to remove everything I had said before and just leave this here

Not to bust your bubble but you have over paid for your lasers and 95% are not getting what's advertised

Look, I like what I've bought. Their customer support is great and I don't feel ripped off. I'm building my own lasers, but in the mean time, I'm collecting things like this. I can modify the WL Nano to run on the better batteries with a new driver, and I don't appreciate being told that I'm getting ripped off. I bought my 2+W Arctic from them, and it's 2.5 watts output. I'd appreciate if people wouldn't judge me on the things that I like, because I like lasers, and it's not like they're selling me FAKE lasers.

Besides, the ones I intend to build are going to be much better than the WL ones, and I need a basis for comparison. So can you all just lay off WL for a bit? They aren't nearly as awful as the rumors claim.

A little defensive are we? It's just pretty well know WL isn't a great company.

Just because others haven't had good experiences with them doesn't mean that they're a BAD company. I've had wonderful service from them, and I enjoy their products very much. They had a scandal back in 2010, but everyone makes mistakes, and maybe I'm more forgiving than some people. People should really give them another chance. Yeah, their lasers are overpriced, but when being given a gift from family who wants to go through WL for your lasers, it's not fair to tell the recipient of the gift that their laser is crap.

I may be a bit defensive but seriously, you guys are being unnecessarily unkind.

Never said you were being rippped off so way to jump down my throat. You took what I said as one thing but what I said is 100% true. WL has horrible advertising and 95% of what they say is a sham. If you like your sham then good for you, the rest of us will see WL for what they are.

I'm glad you are building your own laser but when you compare youe laser to a piece then it will obviously lool amazing. Try comparing your WL to a laserbtb or LG and you will see its not all its "cracked" up to be.

WL is the fanboys of lasers. They are the only ones who overly advertise and attract all the fanboys. Its not ab opinion its the truth. WL doesn't care about safety and they don't care who they sell to. They are a bad influence on this hobby andnif you were a laser enthuaist like you say you are then you'd see this and hate them like the rest of us. Youd hate them just lile we hate kipkay

Edit: you say they make mistakes!?!? How is selling thousands of lasers and never shipping them or takibg over a year to shop them making a mistake!? That's a lie, scam and f'ing horrible business practices! If you want to spend your hard earned cash on it then be my guest. Means you have less money to huy lasers that are quality and I'm interested in.

Get pissed at me all you want but guess what, its my opiniok and not yours so nothing you can do about it

Don't worry man, I'm sure people didn't mean it that way.

On LPF it is common fact that WL is overpriced.. And like livinloud said they don't give a sh:)t who they sell to or about safety. I think people are just warning you, that's all. No matter what way you look at it a 2 watt 445nm laser for $600 is way overpriced.

As for your question I believe rechargeable aaa's will be fine, something like the Sanyo eneloops would be a great choice for AAA's.

Although if I where you I would've gone with a laserglow anser which is cheaper and of better quality. But if your happy with your WL core than that's great. Just giving you another option that you may consider.

Man, don't be a jerk, I know my safety, it's not like I'm some 15 year old kid who thinks lasers are lightsabers. I know their lasers are overpriced, I know they don't care about safety, and I know they sell stuff for $600 that I could build for about $150. But MY opinion is that I like the host, and that you should really back off when it comes to being mean to other laser enthusiasts. I hate kipkay too, he's why we have 15 year olds lasing airplanes. But I am not one of them; don't paint me as such. I'm buying some of the stuff because I like how it looks, don't judge me for that.

Thank you, that's what I wanted to know. I just wanted to know if rechargables were good. And I found 1.6v rechargable AAAs that are NiZn based, so they should work better than the alkaline ones. I do my research. You're the only person here who hasn't insulted me. I'm giving you rep for this.

Core owner here. It stays in regulation down to about 2.2V. Rechargeables work very well in this pointer.

I really really dislike AAA cells they have no poop in them.

The core is a 5mW pointer, Mr pyro. ;) AAAs are an adequate supply for 150mA.

Same here, rechargeables work fine in the Core, although I still wouldn't recommend it. You don't want a Core with stuck batteries in it

Also, not to further any flaming, but WL is a mixed bag... some will stay away from them at all costs, some won't. Each person has their own opinion, and WL can't really be classified as a scam nor a "good" company to buy from. If you feel that your money was well spent and you are content with your purchase, I see no reason to say you shouldn't have purchased from WL

WL has been good to me, and I don't have any ill will toward them. They sell good lasers, even if they're overpriced. My Arctic was WAY overspec, and their representative gave me a discount code that uses my name. I get 10% off any purchase.

I was only trying to help the guy out and he took it totally the wrong way, some people I tell ya
