Yeah i've never been an advocate of the 2W+ 445 builds either. I kind of figured it was only a short matter of time before they started dying. I personally think that right around 1.5W is probably the 'sweet spot' on these for life vs power.

Well it has an hour on it, and is set at 1.8A like the rest of em. Every one I;ve done at 1.8A has lasted much longer than this, and all of those are still 110% alive, with no degradation.

Might just be a bad diode, but it hasn't died yet.

I think he is right I think it's just a matter of time. If a diode only lasts a year i'd rater just have it a Little lower, Personally. Hey you might think thats fine

I cant remember exact price, but it's over $100

Just be honest are they under 1k? I need to get some funds together if they open it up to everyone on LPF after the vet group buy. What's the output on these 50mw?
How does it compare to a 532 in the dark. Are they really brighter in the dark?

I thought so. $300 would still be nice. I guess I will see either when I hit 1000 posts or someone does a GB for mere mortals. I wonder what will be first...
