I couldn't find any threads on this particular drive. Has anyone tore this down for harvest? It's a great opportunity if they're good diodes. You'll reap a 12X 405nm a 16X 650nm and a 48X 808nm.
The drive is an LG UH12LS28

Newegg.com - LG Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-ray Drive Model UH12LS28 OEM LightScribe Support - Blu-Ray Drives

There's a promo code to take this down from 59.99 to 49.99 right now.
If this is a good buy, I'm going to use it for a couple more builds :D

Are you sure they come in 5.6mm package ? You are not the first one to discover some strange diode package.

Which is why I'm asking if anyone has torn this one apart yet. I don't want to find a funky diode :)

I can't see spending $50 on a drive that's going to give you maybe 100mW (but probably less) of 405nm, a 650nm diode on par with an $8 LOC, and a 760nm (not 808nm) that you could basically get for free if you just ask people who've harvested a bunch of sleds and don't want then IR diodes.

780nm. :)

Holy crap, I just realized that's just a BD ROM not a burner... *facepalm* Sorry for wasting space! The 12X got me excited...

Any mod reading, you can delete this whole dumb thread! :D
