According to the FAA there are between two and three thousand laser strikes against aircraft every year. If you take the number of Aircraft that are in the air at any time all year long that is a small percentage! There are some 30 + million flights in the USA every year and those are just the registered ones, that does not take in to account the VFR flights and helo's so the % is less that .005 but it is that amount that is making the feds nervous and taking it out on every one. Instead they just thinking that banning these pointers is going to fix every thing. pretty soon we will not be able to get diodes out of any thing because they will be anti tamper proof its total bs
