haha! true. I don't think ill be building any 10A lasers anytime soon LOLI saw someone using them switches for a flashlight so I figured that was the just the max rating. At least you know you won't fry them.
And thanks Richie.
I did think that diode didn't heat up too much. Glad to hear it works as intended! And I'm sure you did actively plan the heat dissipation with the print. Very well doneThanks Snecho.
Yes the diode doesn’t generate a great deal of heat. I have a steel heatsink and it sticks out of the host slightly allowing passive cooling. I was careful with heat management due to the fact that my host would be naturally insulative.
Obviously the diode does get warm and I give the laser a duty cycle to be on the safe side but nothing serious to worry about. Thanks SnechoI did think that diode didn't heat up too much. Thanks Robert, funny enough yes. I have had a 505 diode for a while doing nothing. I’ve contacted Jordan for a driver for it. Once I receive the driver you can expect another build like this but with another great wavelength.Congrats on your build, are you planning another one yet ? It is addictive fun.
Thanks Adam, glad you found it a nice change.Nice build, nice to see something a little different!
Picked a nice wavelength for your first build.
