I've been so busy lately to do a whole custom housing for my 488 diode, and then then I realised I can simply slap it together many different ways, I had a lovely copper mec mod but then I decided to just go with this stainless steel one and with the alloy head polished they combine like it's one piece, it turned out really nice so thought I would show it off, this colour is so gorgeous I doubt the host matters much anyway,

Thanks for looking even if you don't read this!

Oh that's gorgeous Billy.
I've been wondering where you were lately.
Video looks great, picks up the colour nicely.
I know it's presumptuous of me but if you want to sell it, let me know buddy.
I'd love this one too.

That's a good looking mod/h.s. combo you've got there Billy!
Those photos show off that beautiful 488nm wavelength really well!
:gj: & :kewlpics:

Hi BBB,
Thats a great choice for such an awesome diode, well done buddy always good to see your achievements.

Rich:)

Thanks guys, yep I really like this colour I'm going to have to hold on to this one, Haven't had much time lately life always gets in the way, I was just thinking there are a few guys on the forum, won't mention names, who love all this talk about new wavelengths-expensive diodes-rare wavelengths and funny thing is when you post something wonderful there is little chance of them commenting, only in there own little threads, Just thought I would put that out there!

Maybe copper looks more appealing for this wavelength!

Last pick 478 on the right and 488 on the left!

The copper is nice looking, but I think I like it best in the mod that it's in right now! :yh:

How good are the Mech-mods!!
Another awesome build BBB, one of a kind build with a one of a kind diode!. My hands would of been shaking building this, great work :D
Nano@275 ?
And that last photo

Edit, like the look with the s/s mech bod, BBB, has it sunk in you own a 488nm direct diode laser....that in itself is absolutley mind boggling, cost another member here around $1700usd to build one awhile back IIRC :)

I can't decide between the copper and the S.S bodies, I love both.
But as you said the colour (WL) is so beautiful that the host doesn't really matter all that much.
Oh, I'm going to keep coming back to this thread for more looks, I can't get enough of it.

Enjoy buddy, it's so beautiful.

Thank you!
You have to treat it just like any diode and take care every step, Probably hasn't sunk in yet, not using Nano for this one I think 275 is a little too high, actually just using a cheap 405 driver at 130ma it has soft start and seems to be doing just fine for know.

^ 1 rare photo B, not many people can say they have taken one like this :D Awesome combo! The 488's still running strong too! i couldn't believe the difference on your video between your 488nm diode and the ~475nm diode.

Definitely an awesome combo BBB. That photo shows just how hardcore of a laser collection you have. Even those mech mod hosts are a bit unusual now.

A fun fact I like to point out often, combine them to get white:
