Alright, before you all explode on the thought of RS carrying a 445, rest
assured they don't :D

Back in January i posted a thread on how i converted one of their green
lasers into a red, using one of those tricky 3.6mm diodes, now i have
converted another one of these into a 445.

The laser uses a Microboost set at about 550mA, about the lowest the driver
will put out when set to its highest range. Heatsinking here is a bare minimum,
but its more of a "i just want to build something" project rather than a
hardcore heavy use laser.

I have included a couple pics of it next to the red which is still working
RadioShack lasers never looked so good

LOL, i remember when i bought these, i had to got to 4 different RadioShacks cause 3 of
them didn't even know they carried lasers, they kept directing me to led flashlights

Schweet build! I'm looking to do the small 445nm build next. Mind if I ask about the batt. I imagine it's a 10440.

Taking it back would be fun...

"Its the wrong color... and it keeps setting my stuff on fire!"

... i wonder what the salesman will say when you demostrate that on his counter top :D
