445nm Lens Comparisons!

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons!

It's really hard to tell which side is which. Maybe it tricked you :p.

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons!

OK, I'm checking one last time, and now I will take it out and FEEL it..... OK, the round side is FACING THE DIODE. Did I break physics?

@pontiacg5-is this true in an a130 as well?

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons!

Huh, try moving it closer. The flat side sits practically right on top of it in the projector.

I wouldn't think the optics are different from a 130 to a 140, but I have only seen inside a 140 :/

If you look at my avatar

You can almost see the curving. Another thing you can see (if you know to look for it) Is the two plates that hold the lenses in. The one on the bottom actually holds the lenses, and the next one protects the lenses from getting scratched when putting the assembly in the projector. The whole assembly is designed to be swapped easily, so I am assuming this is what the extra plate is for.

Jay,

Have you tried your aperture addition for the, 'G', series lens with the stock Casio lens?

M
:)

It's an interesting idea...

But no, I have not tried that...

It's just not a desirable output to even mess with as shown in my pictures. (first post)

Hmmmm... I wonder what's goin on here :wtf:

Tell us how your diode is pressed into the module...

It is pressed into the module from the back correct? And flush with the back of the module?

I think it's flush... it might be sticking out just a little bit. And BTW I have to screw the casio lens in almost ALL the way (WITHOUT a focus adapter) to get any kind of range. It's in a standard aixiz plastic lens housing...

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons!

Sounds like you just didn't get the lens positioned close enough to the bottom of the nut...

It needs to be very near the top of the diode. (flat side)

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons!

No good. I turned the lens around, it won't focus properly at all. I'm sticking with round side in.

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons!

Update on AixiZ 445 lenses:

I talked to AixiZ today and they asked us to please continue to be patient. What happened, is that their order of 1500 from their suppliers got stopped at customs. (too large of an order)

So they are getting orders of 500 sent through. (or less)

It was an unforeseen delay. But they are working to get us our lenses. And we will have them. But we just have to be patient...

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons!

Lenses are not allowed? When did that happen?

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons!

Not sure why, maybe too large of an order or something...

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons!

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
It's not like they should be stopping cocaine or anything. Who the hell cares if they have a box of 1500 lenses? It's no wonder large companies don't manufacture in the US anymore, not only is it more expensive, it's impossible to get components in volume LOL. Customs will stop them...
