this Die4driver has reverse diode protection as well. It is more expensive than the flexmod.


The flexmod v3 apparently has much more than just reverse-connection protection. It has a circuit that instantaneously kills power to the diode when any fault in the diode circuit is detected. It acts fast enough to protect the diode from any voltage surges that can occur due to a fault.

I like what I hear. That will be my next project, I would like to use one of these to power a bigger IR diode. "hmm" I wonder what kind of diode I want for xmas? A 10W 808 bar?
