Hey guys,

Does anyone know what I could get a driver for a 445nm diode that powers at 1.8amps. Or if anyone can make a LM317/LM117 driver for it?

Thanks,
Daniel

Dr. Lava's FlexMod, the Die4Drive, or you could parallel two LM317, or you could use a
single IC similar to the LM317 that is rate for more than 3A, like the LD1058 for example.

It depends on what kind of host and what kind of power source you will be using.
Also, be warned that 1.8A is really very close to the edge to the diode's capabilities
and you will need massive, possibly even active cooling, if you want to power
the diode for more than just a few seconds.

If you find the 1085 difficult to source, you can also use the LM338 - which is fairly identical to the 317, but with higher current abilities.
