Hey LPF,
This is my thread for my recently built 428mA LPC-815 Aurora C6!
I love this host. It was the first host I ever bought to build a handheld. I sold that particular laser ages ago
and began missing it. I happened to have 2 Aurora C6's laying around, an LPC-815 Sled from GhostChrome,
and some heatsinks for them so I figured it was time to put one to use! :eg:
The LPC-815 had been sitting in its heatsink for about 2 months before I finally had initiative enough to harvest
and use it. I had quite the scare after getting it out. As I broke through the heatsink the diode flew out and hit the
ground about 4 feet below me. My stomach dropped what with its open canned-ness and all. But luckily I tested
it after pressing it and it survived without a problem
You can probably see that's one of Moh's nice Focus Adaptors. I love it, it makes focusing a snap! And it looks
pretty nice, all polished and all. (The photo doesn't show it that well though)
Quite obviously this will destroy matches, balloons, plastic, and steel wool. It burns fantastically! I use a pretty
strict duty cycle adherence so this should last me quite a while, especially with that nice heatsink!
Here are some more photos of this laser.
(You jelly, bro?)
(Uncollimated light from the diode)
Specs
Operating Current: 428mA
Output: ~260mW :eg:
Power Source: 1x 3.7V 18650 Li-ion Cell
Beamshots!!
