ive looked at the meredith website, it seems their glass and plastic lenses both have ar coatings, but the mounting blocks they sell look really usefull

Simply "having" AR coating doesn't negate their value. Empirical testing has shown the Merideth transmits the highest amount of light of all the easily available lenses.
