300mW Green powered by 2 AAA? Possible?

At http://www.megalaseruk.com they have a pen sized green laser that is claimed to put out 300mW. The thing is, it runs on two AAA batteries. To me, this just doesn't sound right. Anyone have any insight? I was thinking maybe with two 10440's, but then that would probably just kill it.
 





The size of a battery generally just reflects its capacity in mAh, not it's "power". So there's no reason why it shouldn't work. They're not even saying "alkaline AAA", which tend to sag in voltage quickly. If you've got a driver that can milk most of a cells capacity (like the drlava Flexdriver), you should easily get out several hours worth of runtime especially using lithium AAAs; however I strongly suspect these won't have anything as advanced.

EDIT: ups, sorry... it's a green. I had been thinking red/blue. I don't know the current requirements/efficiency of greens. Still, if you're using Li and the current doesn't exceed 1.5A by very much... why not?

It won't work. To get 300mW green, you need at least a 1.25W ir diode, and there isn't enough heatsinking.
 
I serously doubt it too - 200 mW seems to be very difficult to reach from 2 AAA's, and even the pointers that do can't keep that output up for long.

Also, i seriously doubt they have any idea what they are doing... from the description of a RED pointer:

Since there is no 660 nm DPSS technology, its clearly just a dvd-writer diode, not something with a 1 watt pump (which could result in 671 nm)

Below it they list a 300 mW 808 nm with a 1.5 watt diode in it, very similar mistake if you ask me.
 
They don't say anything about DPSS or pump diode... just "Laser diode: 1 watt", which perfectly fits an LPC-815 (2.5V, 400mA).
 
You COULD but it's battery life from 2 aaa's would be bad.

The GREEN output of 300mw would need atleast 1W IR with some badass crystals.
 
A while back I bought the claimed 300mW red laser from them, and it was more like 180mW average, peaking momentarily at 200mW, and that's running off an 18650 3.7V. That's one reason I'm suspicious of their claims with the green.
 
It may be 300mw with no IR filter so 295mw IR & 5mw green....just a thought.

The thing is, I've never seen anyone else advertise a pen sized green pointer with that kind of power output. Anyone else seen anything comparable?
