Hey guys!

I would like to buy a 300mW 445nm diode but i can't find one.XD
At first, I wanted to build a 1W 445nm laser but I found it way too dangerous and I couldn't even show it to friends. :tsk:

I'll buy a Jayrob 18650 kit and now all I need is the diode. 300mW or 400mW is what I'm looking for!

Thanks!

If you want a 445 you are looking at the same diode. You just need to adjust your current down to the power you are looking for on your driver. A setting around 400mA-500mA and an Aixiz lens should get you where you want to be.;)

At this low of an output, you can use the stock acrylic lens in it too. That will save you a little cash.

Peace,
dave

@daguin
What is the safe power levels to use the acrylic lens. I thought it was around 350... Is that true?

I have one that has been run at 350mW for several months with an acrylic lens. I am willing to run 405nm lasers up to ~400mW with acrylic, but they do need replaced from time to time ;)

Peace,
dave

Good thing the acrylics come free with aixiz modules! I have tons of them laying around

Are 445nm lasers that much more dangerous than others?!
Anyways, I'm planning to buy:

1W 445nm diode
445nm aixiz glass lens
aixiz module
Jayrob's 18650 "cree" kit with drill out the pill option
flexdrive driver set to maybe 1A (depending on how dangerous it is)
18650 batteries and charger
and the most important(kind of...), wicked lasers' arctic goggles

I think that's all! I'd like some advice as this is only my second build(first one was a red 300mW which is probably more like 180mW(380mA))!!!!

YAY?!!!

DO NOT buy wicked lasers goggles I REPEAT DO NOT buy wicked lasers goggles! They are ineffective at 1W

What are good goggles then? I'm not gonna pay 60$ for that! (I wish they were free!!)
:thanks:

Listen to this guy^^^ I have a pair of Dragon lasers goggles, and they are awesome. They cover 405, 445, and 532 very well. And they are like $30 bucks shipped.

Oh yeah and if you didn't notice.... to get a diode.... refer to... ehermmmm.... DTR's signature...... :eg:
