"Kingston has unveiled the "world's first" 256GB flash drive - but it will cost you more than £650 ($1,000) to get your hands on it."
PC Pro: News: The £650 flash drive!

Let the price come down.. ill buy one
i have a 1TB external (main), 500GB external (backup), a 250GB Pocket HD and 2 8GB flash drives
im into geeky things like that
;)

Awesome.. I dont think they will sell very fast at that price tho.. I also like these kinda things, I just bought a brand new pc and built it from scratch :D

Seems you haven't been looking around for SSD's. Google OCZ Vertex and the 1GB OCZ ;)

the vertex is a small internal.. 366$ for a new 120GB. no way. i think ocz is pretty expensive
but i do have lots of flash drives. i have 2 1gig's in my camera case that i carry with me, and tonz of smaller sizes that are pertty old. on my pc i have 25 gigs of pictures i have taken with my camera. so its good to have the large flash drives for when you need to print something and your not at home.

I'm the one to blame because I didn't follow the link. I thought we were talking about HDD SDDs. Sorry :p

Lol that thing is 100 gb more than my laptop's HDD. I think I'll stick with my 500 gb and 1 tb externals for 1/10 of the price

Only flaw: USB is slow :p

I would think that something created at this time would also be USB 3.0 compatible, although I wouldn't htink many computers are. 5Gbit/s anyone?? :D

i have a 256gb OCZ Vertex drive for sale at 700.00 shipped in the US. stick it in a usb enclosure and you have the same thing as that flash drive, but better..

I agree, I have a couple of 1.5 tb in media cases that only cost me $149.00 new.

I haven't heard anything about USB 3.0 since I first read the news that it was being developed.

I have literally seen 0 USB 3.0 devices, WTH happened to them?

I think it was released in August last year, and USB 3.0 devices expected to reach the market in 2010. Not far off then I guess :D

I'm still waiting for DDR3 to get inexpensive and what's more, better than DDR2 :p
