24k Gold Plated Titanium JetBeam build plan!

Here is one project I am working on, I'm planning on a dual flexdrive mod with a NDB 7675 diode and 20mm copper module,
Set at 2.7a just like the other adjustable custom host I built, pushing it" at this current with only a IMR 14500 but that's the plan.

So I ordered the Tea 20 witch is the larger jetbeam from Fastech and what happened, they sent the smaller one $120 gone and instead of shipping back and waiting again decided to keep it and then ordered the larger one from eBay this time shipped from the US another $130 and now I have both.

These are the only decent looking well built gold plated Flashlights you can get and I wanted a powerfull 470nm beam coming from it, since it's already called Jetbeam,

This project has stalled for the moment though, just cannot get the head unscrewed, I tried acetone to loosen up the glue on the threads, I also slipped on 2 stainless hose clamps with rubber under tightened them up and used 2 multi grips and nothing, so lucky I didn't scratch the gold plating off,
The smaller Tea 30 has slots in the driver compartment to easily unscrew and it opens just fine but the larger one doesn't and looks like the head cap unscrews and driver and led slide out the front.

Unless I can get it opened without damage this build is scrapped,

So enjoy my nearly $400 spent on project parts, Thanks for looking!

The host is a beauty. Best of luck with your build. I've enjoyed your build threads and hope for another!

I had a similar problem with getting a Chinese light apart.. and tore up the anodizing without opening it still. The key for me ended up being heat, since I had the driver out already and the LED was scrap I didn't care and heated it with a butane soldering tool without a solder tip on it, then two rags and vice grips took it right apart. Looks like the same thermal adhesive they used on the LED MCPCB to me..

Good luck and idk about heat to the gold plating but maybe freeze them in freezer then try.

Nice looking pair of golden hosts you've got there, badboy, they look like laser pointers for an executive!
I really hope you can get that head loose, after all the trouble you've gone through. Maybe some heat would help out?

Wow, quite the expensive project. Very nice hosts though, must feel quite premium. Got any links from where you bought them?

Yes butane torch worked for my Coast HP14 mods and they were no joke,

I'll give that a try!

Fasttech is were I got the smaller one, they might not have the larger one since that is what I ordered and they sent the wrong one, possibly just a mistake,

These guys have them in stock even though there limited edition, and there in the US, Tactical Knives & Gear | Perry Knife Works Edit, larger tea 20 out of stock now!

Possibly find one on eBay! This is the smaller one.

Edit!

So the driver was just lightly glued to the ledge, I managed to pry it out with some nose pliers, what do I find under the driver a titanium base, so the led isn't accessible, I drilled a few small holes in the base, broke the glass lens and loosened the led and reflecter up and finally the top cap unloosened and comes off, now I need to bore out the base that took a few hrs last night, the diameter of the head is 20mm even after boaring out a millimetre of titanium I only have 15mm space for the copper module, I might have to boar out a little more!
