200mW O-Like dilda Help

Ok my module arrived (Impulsive buying ftw :) )

Here is it's lens

Will this work? So I just reassemble with teflon tape?

I would have bought the recommended lens. This is a plastic one but it "could" be suitable. Just insert it in the head, then insert in the body and try to focus the laser, if it doesnt focus to infinity then you can use the lens without the head to allow it to go deeper in the body. There are sometimes short lenses that dont go deep enough into the body. Also you may cut off the back of the lens to maximize output like in the attachment.

I ordered the module before my 200mW even arrived.

I tested it and it's not ideal but I can get cd cases to burn. I can't focus it to infinity and the best I can only let burn stuff a few cm from the laser.

I might ask susie if she can send me a replacement lens.

Edit: I figured since the focusing assembly on mine was more loose then usual from the start even for a old-style (dilda) and that I should ask for a refund.

I was honest and didn't omit the fact that the lens had fallen out and had been swapped. So I apparently can't get a refund because of that. Perhaps I should have asked for a swap. But it's too late I agreed to get the new lens/head.

But she is trying to help and is sending me a free new lens/head albeit $5 postage. Hopefully this all works out and I have a great burning laser!

I am forever going to kick my self for getting the damn old style one. Someone said the focus on that one was too tight. But it looks some much better and it's head doesn't fall off! Can't both of them be like my the focus on my cheapo toplaser focusable blu ray (pic avatar) smooth but not loose and works well every time

If only high quality high power lasers were sold locally in stores

Ok, My replacement lens and head arrived.

I tried fitting it in, but it doesn't fit in completely. Maybe some teflon tape will help

I've tried with the teflon tape several times. It won't work :(

It's just constantly out of focus. It was a POS of a laser that broke the week I got it and they won't refund it. I have lost about $60 USD once you include shipping and laser safety glasses.

Is there any chance of ever getting my laser working!?

I know I'm kicking my self for getting the old style 200mW from O-Like for $43 (shipping and goggles pushed it up to $60 something)

But there is good news. I just received an email from Susie and I can return it and get a replacement :) :) :)
