I had no issues with this laser. However it does no have a good beam. So anything after 10 feet its bad.
This will basicly cause the laser to not look as bright as it should be.
This laser has been focused for burning within 3 feet Period.! After that the divergence is bad. Worse then a 445nm diode.
Put it this way my 73mW CNI is Brighter then this laser. It keeps a tight beam witch makes it look solid all the way down.
After 10 feet the beam starts to get so wide that the laser beam becomes faint.
Also The Amount of IR iam not sure of as i took this laser apart and iam using the host for another build i did. Iam guessing its Around 30-50mW of IR OR more. Not sure i dont have an IR Filter to test this.
However the module still works. The laser gets way to hot to fast for my liking. I would only run this laser for less then 30 sec MAX. Anything after that was pretty hot. SO i probably going to put it in a larger heatsink and try to use better optics.
For the Money its OK for burning withing 3 feet.
But i would not buy this if you want a solid pointer.
@Solder Blob Why spend so much money on all these lasers.? You could have bought 1 really Bad A$$ CNI or O-likes 400mW Green.?
Just my .02 cents.
