Recently I posted a build review on a couple of Kryton Groove hosts that I purchased from "Grainde." An M140nm and a 520nm.

Today I will be giving a short review on Sinners MS-ENVY and the builds.
First up I will point out that these two hosts were purchased at a very good reduced price, USD 20. They were reduced as they were the last of the batch and had some slight cosmetic defects and I must say they were slight!
Here they are.
There are some slight cosmetic marks on these hosts but the machining is excellent! Can you make out the join of the tail cap?
A breakdown of the Host. See the hole where the grub screw goes, well a standard size camera mount screws in there too. Neat!
The business end. You can see the top of the driver pill there. This was a little "can" type, different to others I have seen in the MS-ENVY in other posts. In one build the driver fitted nicely inside thermal glued to the bottom. on the other build the driver was longer and i had a bit more trouble fitting it. The can type pill could be another 5-7mm longer!
Tail cap and Clicky Switch. I have to say that these switches really do look the part But! The but is sometimes they do not always work on the first click.
Some beam shots. 9mm 445nm @ 2.5W and a 638nm @ 640mW
Oh and here is a shot of the "DOT" For those that already know look away now!
BOEING is looking at mounting those wings on it's next Airbus. Only a mother could love that!:cryyy:
The 9mm 445nm and the 635nm plus drivers were both purchased from DTR. If you are looking for build parts he is the man to see. Good prices and fast delivery. He must live in the Post Office basement because it is the quickest receive time, every time out of any purchases from the US. If you are looking for silicone wire, solder etc check out Flaminpyro. For those that don't know, they plus others can be found here. http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/
Overall this is a Great host with superb heat sinking with great and precise machining. Yeah sure it is not the fanciest of hosts but it does a great job of doing what it is supposed to, housing a diode module without letting things get hot to quickly.
I have not purchased nor seen in person any of Sinner's other hosts but I am sure that his workmanship on them would be just as good or better that these. I will certainly be shopping with him again!
Hope you liked this review. Enjoy your day!
