1st nubm44 build of 7

hello to ya all,after many years away from the laser hobby playing around with zvs drivers(induction heating and HV) and flashlight builds thought I go at it again.
A friend gave me his box that plays pictures on walls and I took it apart for its 7 nubm44 just finished my 1st build of 7.

driver used for this build is a 1 mode 4.5A buck intended for cree led xhp70 6v.

new build 3rd C8 host, a few more to come
this is based on the good old LM338 set at 5A based on this nice mod LM350 from back in the day,older members would remember.

I have some extra 44's and was thinking about c-lens correcting and knife edging several, even just 3 or 4 which would yeild a much better quality beam bundle than the nubm31/36 etc... arrays.
What did you think of the sealed light engine, pretty cool huh ?
I wonder if Jordan has a pile of those AR coated mirrors......

new 44 build just finished, call it a pocket rocket lol output just shy of 7W I believe as dont have a laser meter.
set at a lowish 4.7Amp with new test load method 100W 1Ω power resistor and new UNI-T DC clamp meter
homemade brass heatsink and driven from a modified ebay driver.
2-3 builds will be up for grabs soon anyone interested shoot me a pm

Very nice, of course your duty cycle will be short and the 18350's will get drained fast, however your modified driver has a lower cutoff than others so will help you get more runtime.

thx Red for your input on this so called "chinese driver" not bad for 3 bucks.
I think it also has a slow ramp up on high.
small host small run time as its not for "continuous 24/7 use"
